| | Customer Reviews: Brain Death for you (or them) (13 July 2010)No plot development. Zombies run at you randomly. Good brain dead fun until it bores you. TEAM FORTRESS IS A FAR BETTER GAME. Probably the best online Co-op game around (30 May 2010)Left 4 dead 2 (like it's predecessor) is really an online game however it has a single player mode where you can play with computer controlled teammates but it's not what you buy the game for. The game is built round four survivors who are battling their way to safety through zombie hordes. There are 6 campaigns with around 4 levels in each. you fight through zombie hordes with weapons such as shotguns, machine guns, pistols, swords, cricket bats, baseball bats,crowbars, molotov cocktails the list goes on. There are special zombies with unique abilities that crop up from time to time such as a tank which is strong and powerful and takes a lot to kill, a smoker who will ensnare you from afar and try and pull you away from your team mates and others. These special zombies can be played themselves in some of the alternate game modes. Alternate game modes As well as the simple campaign with you and three others there are alternative game modes (one which changes weekly to a brand new one) such as versus where you take turns against another team to complete a level whilst the other team tries to stop you as the special zombies. Scavenge is where you play against another team to gather gas cans across a map (and try and stop them as zombies) . Survival is a hold out as long as you can against waves of zombies. Other game modes are slight modifications of the main ones. It integrates with steam to allow achievements and friends lists (which it does very well), using steam also removes the need to use the Dvd and easily allows you to move play from one pc to another. The game also tracks your stats which is interesting reading during level loads. Frequent updates and user content As well as the constant creators updates, users can make their own maps or download other peoples. Some servers are also modified to give special weapons, let more people play on a team, let players earn points per kill and use points to 'buy' new weapons/health in game, and more. Summary Left 4 dead 2 works well by requiring you to work together as a team. It has numerous ways to play so if you find one way difficult you can try another. Multiple game modes give plenty of variety and the constantly new input (from users and the creators themselves) keeps you logging in each week for fresh fun. The only real downside is that you need to be online to play (and if your speed is really slow your gaming may suffer) Really Good Game but the Sound didnt work well !!! (04 May 2010)I purchased this game nearly a month ago , the Sound dindt work , i always must go in the audio menu and put it back on 2 speakers and then again on 5.1 , and this every Level. The Game is fun , but this is not very comfortable. Its boring, the game got good grafics. But the with the sound this problems is not okay, i have a realtek HD audio , for all other man and woman who want to buy this game , be aware!! And i dont like much this aggressive Zombies, Resident Evil 2 was a much greater game, with the slow slurfing Zombies, but anyhow this is also a great game, i could just tell you buy it , hope you havent the soundproblems like i do. Valve didnt solve the problem in over 4 -5 month , i asked for help , its on the way. So now you know why i didnt gave all five stars. Best regards Pivic Do it yourself splatter movie (03 May 2010)Not much to say... It's an absolute Fungame. People who like trashy Zombiemovies will love it. First i thought it would be just a short-term fun, but over and over again, i enjoy playing. Above all I like the coop element. Without your Teammates it is always a short game. Once grabbed by a special Infected, only your friends can rescue you. Two Thumbs up, a real Fungame ! A more complete Left 4 Dead (22 April 2010)For someone who upon hearing they were releasing a sequel to Left 4 Dead - Game Of The Year Edition (PC DVD) thought "they should add to the first one!", I did actually find this to be a worthy purchase. The improved effects, weapons and game modes are what the game needed. I do miss the original characters a little though... |
