  Mass enjoyment (16 July 2010)
With well over 60 reviews i will keep this short & sweet. I have been playing ME2 for 3-4 days now & after getting over some technical problems, i have been really enjoying this game. the problem i ahd was sound/audio based, where i couldnt/or barely hear the character voices at the start of the game over the music & sound effects. using an creative Audigy setup it was simple to fix this annyoing problem. all i had to do was switch my speaker setup from a 5.1 speaker setup, to headphones, and i can hear everything now.

The game itself thus far is very good, with a new engaging story, albeit a little similar to ME1. Reprising the role of Shepperd we once again set out solving the galaxy's problems & recruiting a new squad of select individuals with theyre own background, attitude & in game story mission. we have new ways of upgrading weapons/gadgets which require materials that we can obtain from scanning & mining planets(with varied resources) with a new mini game, where we find the resources from a giger counter style scaning system that peaks & troughs when hovering over materials. there are also simple mini games for hacking & decoding, similar to Alpha Protocol. As with ME1 we can be a goody & polite character or a baddy & mean character, so lots of choices at sections of the game where you can make different decisions, with different outcomes to the story. it certainly pulls at your moral compass, as i frequently re-think my decisions later on. the combat is based on a Brothers in Arms cover, supress & kill setup. but with varied enemies with different stengths & weaknesses you have to use the right weapon/ammo for the job. i did find however that Shepperd was a bit clunky to move around the screen, but it wasnt too bas as we use cover allot.

In conclusion ME2 is a very good game with many varied characters, intersting story, deep background story to your crew, good graphics, good sound(once working) & top notch voice acting(main characters voices are the same from ME1, as well as some more recent familiar ones to me i noticed today, like Morrigan & Longhain's voice actors from Dragon Age Origins). although be advised that you will need to input a copy protection KEY which can be found on the back of your game manual, if you have a boxed version. there is also the option for some extra free content(which adds a new crew character & some different weapons etc) where you are asked to register the game again to make an EA account, which basically asks you to fill in another KEY(found on a seperate card in the game box) for your e-mail/dob & a password of your choosing, but it is only a quick 3 minute registration process. highly reccomended.

  Excellent Sci-FI (08 July 2010)
Very good game, improved gaming experience since Mass Effect I ; I would say thay how much you like it really depends on personal interpretation, since formally it's more or less impeccable, although most side-quests aren't particularly convincing.

Good, the bad and the Ugly (28 June 2010)
for start id like to say i never got chance to play this game on my own version. I played 75% of the game at a friends house and loved it, i had the first one but had doubts how the second one would pan out.
All for no need i loved the game and it played alot like the first game but EA had clearly fixed alot of the problems with the game.
so overall the game is good to play but to install there are thousands of issues.
on PC the game comes with 2 discs to install, for me the disc 1 never managed to finish, i looked up online reasons thinking i may of just be given faulty game but it turned out that all the games had these problems on PC, both discs were badly coded and we bad quality discs. finding a copy that installed properly were like gold dust, people all over were suggest hot disking and burning parts to hard disk. these all seemed like they could probally work but i couldnt be bothered to do this on a game i payed money for.
if you want to play this game your best option is getting the Xbox 360 copy.

One word: Wow (17 June 2010)
One of the best games I have played this year, undoubtly.

The main reasons is that it has been much improved from the last game, and allowing you to create your own character at the beginning is a nice touch..although I personally just stuck with the original Shepard!! The other thing which makes it rather interesting is allowing you to import your save files from ME1, so decisions which you have made in the previous game will impact on this one (unfortunately my files were from a long time ago and are no longer on my comp).

Now down to what I feel really does make it a truly awesome game. The different scenery and locations, old and new characters and the fight to the death (literally) with the collectors. I liked the touch of seeing the characters from the old game talk to you (Ashley Williams), which brings back the memories from the old game, and just how improved it is. The relationships which you can build with the other characters is brilliant, my favourite being Miranda of course. If makes you suck into the game, with you yourself feeling that you really are Commander Shepard and the weight of the universe is sitting on your shoulders, if you make a wrong decision it's all over... That is what makes it a magnificant game, every decision you make is of the utmost importance

The only tiny little niggle I have is that every new 'recruit' you get into your team has a mission waiting for you which you have to complete if you want to gain their loyalty. You know as soon as you get them on your team you're going to have to complete a mission to do so.

Apart from that slight niggle I really can't put into words how much I enjoyed this game, having played games such as BFBC2, Fallout 3: GOTY and SC: Conviction this year I can hands down say this game is by far my favourite.

Bring on ME3!!

  a truly rich experience (09 June 2010)
This is great one. i have always found myself resorting to cheats when playing RPGs and other action games to get through them but with this one it was so well designed that it just felt natural to play through all the well thought areas and plot as the delevopers meant it to be.
strongly recommneded.
PS. great if you played the first part as the story can continue in this sequel
