| ![]() | Customer Reviews:![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() A great fun console, but in need of an update (11 July 2010)Firstly, let me just say that I think the Nintendo Wii is brilliant! I believe that there is a Wii game for everyone eg. everyone can have a bash at tennis on the Wii sports game. Lots of games here work really well (Resident Evil 4 is far superior on the Wii compared to it's other incarnations) but more often than not I have been dissapointed by how well the Wiimote (Wii controller) actually captures my movement. (I feel like the PS3's new 'Move' system may well surpass the functionality of the Wii, which can only be a good thing, to raise bar for future consoles). The Wii has precious little in the way of "serious games". First person shooters are really not well represented on this console. Also the Wii does not produce High Definition images, wheras the other two consoles do. I suppose the whole Wii angle is that it is bringing affordable gameplay to "casual gamers" ie. people who don't consider themselves as computer game players. In this respect the Wii is perfect and has been THE driving force in opening up this kind of gameplay (and I am completely behind this, I also love these so called casual games). I really feel though that the Wii's days are numbered. We are due a Wii 2 with a greater graphics power and a better control mechanism (Nintendo approached this problem with the introduction of the 'Motion plus' add on, but I would be willing to bet that the PS3's 'Move' controllers will trump even the motion plus technology. Regardless, 'Move' is going to break Nintendo's monopoly on "casual games" and force them to raise their game.) As ever though, Nintendo's trump card is their selection of brilliant exclusive games - The likes of Mario and Zelda are reason enough to own a Wii. For the time being, the Wii is still a cheap and brilliantly fun console that everyone can enjoy, but I am waiting eagerly for what Nintendo will do next. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() What fanhtastic exercise (27 June 2010)Wow my Daughter and Grandkids just love this must have item a real weight looser Love the Tennis. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Too many flaws (21 May 2010)When the wii came out people said it would be a reveloution but now it inot for the following reasons.1.The games are all completely overhyped and generally fun for an hour then they go away.2.The graphics are awful and look like they are from the ps2 despite being next gen. And finally it is now being overtaken by sony and ms whith move being hd more presice than wii motion plus as well a being blu ray and a entertainment hub. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Lots of fun for all the family (15 April 2010)This console is great fun for everyone. Teenagers can play games on their own and also everyone in the family can get involved at different levels, particularly in the sporting games. We have found it is a good excuse to get a group of friends around and have a silly evening of laughing, with a good dose of competition thrown in. Of course, the success of a console depends on the games you buy but start with the games that are thrown in with the various packages and then you can get a feel for what type of games you enjoy most. I suspect it is not for the serious gamer but that is not me so that's OK!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Great Fun (29 March 2010)I start of by saying this is a review for the console not prices and combination packages (I do games by themself's). Console - This is a great console it's lots of fun, especally in groups but also good by yourself. The graphics are not as good as a PS3 for example but they not ment be. To really enjoy this you got to get the right games like Mario Kart, Wii Sports Island, the Olympic games, any tennis game and Wii fit. If you want something for a great shoot 'um up get something else. This is great and is lots of fun for adults and children a like. Wii Sports - It's a great game in it's self Tennis and bowling is brilliant. Boxing, golf and baseball are also fun but (sometimes)can take a while to get into them. With it's scoring system you only play computer players of your standard and and that scoring systems gives something aim for. Get it |
