Rockstar is back! (03 September 2010)
best western game to date! sooo muhc to doo in the game, and the storyline is just too good!

  Brilliant game (31 August 2010)
I just wanted to share my opinion of this game, even though many reviews have already been done. However in my opinion this game is just brilliant.I have always liked the GTA series and so with the same people bringing us this game i knew it had to be good and i wasn't disappointed.Massive game and endless places to go to and explore. Some people have mentioned how they got bored or just tired of looking around however if you mix things up and do different things like search around for a while and then do a mission and search and do some side missions then it never gets boring i have found as you are always doing something new.Very enjoyable and a brilliant game overall.Highly recommended.

Red Dead Revelation (24 August 2010)
There's lots of praise for this game, and rightly so I say. I had a read of the reviews that didn't get along with it, and it appears that this isn't their type of game. Which is fine.

Really the most important thing to know is this is a free roaming open game world. While there are set missions, and loads of side missions, there's no restricted travel. You can go where ever you like, however you like, for as long as you like. So be prepared to get lost in the mountains, gallop through the plains or just generally explore from time to time. There's plenty to distract you such as hunting missions, rescuing people, stopping people from being hanged to even being horse jacked by people pretending to be in trouble. You can even look at wanted posters then decide to chase down the criminals and receive the bounty, the reward changing depending on the target being dead or alive. The lasso comes in handy here, a great idea for the game, and also opens up the opportunity to catch and tame horses as a job, or even to replace your own.

Talking about the horse, there are many different breeds and colour variations. Each have different speeds and stamina levels. You'll find yourself becoming quite attached, so watch out for wild cougers, they have killed a few of my horses while I've been picking wild flowers to sell in the local stores. The horses may seem a little odd to control at first but it soon becomes second nature. There's nothing more satisfying than galloping headlong into battle and taking banditos down from the mount of your trusty steed.

When shooting you have a feature called Dead Eye. This slows down time and lets you aim more accurately at your targets. You can get more head shots this way, or even shoot weapons out of peoples hands. Should you prefer to capture someone and tie them up this is a good method of injuring an enemy but keeping them alive. It adds an extra element to the game play and makes things a bit more interesting. You have a choice whether to kill or capture.

The main story is brilliantly presented and well acting and plotted. You will spend many, many hours just going through the main story line, which is vast and varied. Sure there is a lot of horse riding, and shooting, but then... this is the Wild West. The character is a flawed ex outlaw going straight, but trouble follows you around and blood ends up being spilled. You can choose to play as a good guy, raising your fame and helping people. Or as a bad guy, stealing, murdering and generally not being very nice which means people will recognise and report you, the 'police' or marshals will hunt you down.

If you enjoyed the Grand Theft Auto games, this is more aimed at you. If you ever wanted to be a cowboy this is probably the closest you'll get. It's not as in face as the GTA series, there's more quality here and everything has been refined to just work well.

I couldn't recommend this enough, it's fun, it's detailed, some missions can be a little repetitive, but there is enough variation to keep this going for a very long time. Mexico does have similar landscape, but much more mountains and detail rock features that make you feel you are in a different area. The characters all dress and look different as well showing care has gone into the locations and cast.

Love it, good game!

Great product, it is very fun to have a GTA like game taking place in the Wild West. Delivery was fast, the game is awesome, not much flaws. In word a solid 90-95% for the overall grade.

Red Dead Redemption (22 August 2010)
This game is absolutely fantastic! I think a lot of people fancy being a cowboy in the Wild West, and this game gives you the perfect opportunity to act this out (without the slightest chance of being hurt too). There is a large area of play, varied missions and incidental tasks (the tasks are not necessary to complete the game, but are to achieve 100% completion). However, you can do as much free-roaming as you like, helping people, hindering people, killing people, robbing people, robbing banks, catching crooks, being a crook. How much fun is all that!? It is a total blast, and I would thoroughly recommend this game to anyone.
