I liked the original Gameboy version and I actually wrote a faster version in less than a day for an old Psion organiser (remember those?) and called it Turbotris! I used to play my own version of the game but noone else I knew could play it at the fastest settings. The reason I could play so fast was that in the original gameboy version (and my faster remake) I always knew where to put the next piece before I'd dropped the current piece in. This was because the next piece was clearly shown at a convenient eye level next to the playing area so you could see both at the exact same time. The trouble I have with the DS version (I've only played the wifi 2 player game so far) is that I am playing blind even though now it shows loads of next pieces! Unfortunately, they are at the top right of the screen and not easy to see at the same time as when you are looking at the tray of blocks. I'm sure there is a trick to it but can someone tell me? I'm still pretty good without knowing the next piece but if it's getting tricky or I want to know when a certain piece is coming, I stop to look but this slows down my game. I want to know how players do this without delaying since the preview of the pieces are so far away from the playing area. Do they just look at the preview and not bother looking at the tray? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() A Classic Game (06 August 2008)I used to play this game on my pc during my lunch hour at work, years ago. When I realised that I could buy it for my nintendo, I was over the moon! This game has exceeded my expectations and I have had hours of fun on it. However it is kind of infectious and I have to limit myself to periods playing the game. Great fun! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Just what I had hoped for! (08 July 2008)Perfect for Tetris fans, this is absolutely great and does exactly what is says on the tin. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() A faithful adaptation (17 June 2008)Brilliant fun, ideal for long car journeys down the M1! An immersive traditional game given a modern spin, i loved it! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Classic (29 January 2008)Why do they always insist on fixing things that aint broke??? loved the old game boy tetris, got excited about this, but its not as good! you cant save your high scores for all to aspire to, the game gets far too fast on higher level etc. good fun but misses the mark. fine make variations if you must but PLEASE include the good old original too!!! WISH YOU COULD BUY ORIGINAL TETRIS FOR THE DS. |
